Welcome on the Beaver’s Website.
The idea for this site goes back on many discussions among beaver people during the beaver meetings in the last years. There is a lot of information on beavers for people interested in this fascinating species, but it’s not always easy to find and to access it. Therefore, this site was planned as a center for providing and exchanging information, news and knowledge about beavers in Europe.
The contents of the site will be (open list):
- information about beaver biology and life history
- a database of beaver literature with links to order reprints
- access to internet-published papers on beavers
- books and brochures about beavers, to download, or with links to order
- information on beavers in different countries (history, current distribution, maps, literature, management, adresses,...)
- pictures on all aspects of beaver‘s life
- links to other beavers on the net
- links to beaver related NGO’s and authorities
- news about current beaver projects (e.g.. for volunteers to participate)
- beaver related symposia, congresses and meetings
- organisation site for the 2nd European Beaver Symposium in Poland, 27-30 September 2000
